Yasha Aginsky has been a documentary filmmaker and film teacher since 1967. He has edited over 50 independent films, including Academy Award nominee FOREVER ACTIVISTS by Judith Montell and more recently, the 2007 SF International Film Festival Best Short Documentary OUTSIDER by Betsy Bayha.


With his film partner and wife, Carrie d’Inzillo Aginsky, Yasha has produced and made over 20 films which have won many awards and been broadcast internationally. His most recent documentaries are ALWAYS BEEN A RAMBLER (2009, Arhoolie Productions) about the musical group The New Lost City Ramblers, and Banjo Tales with Mike Seeger (2012, Aginsky Productions), a survey of contemporary traditional-style southern banjo players. He is currently developing a project with HEALTHQUAL INTERNATIONAL on recent advances in the treatment of HIV/AIDS worldwide.
